Health and fitness - Cure Period Pain - Natural Remedies For Period Pain

My name is Isabel Andrews and welcome to my website. I’m sure every woman can relate to the debilitating pain that comes at "that time of the month" that interferes with our daily activities. Menstrual cramps are not avoidable, but with proper nutrition, they can be made more bearable. I hope the information here will be of help and assist you in providing some relief.
Menstrual cramps or menstrual pain is a medical condition and the scientific name for the condition is dysmenorrhea (pronounced dis-men-na-rhe-a). During a woman’s menstrual cycle, the inner lining of the uterus normally builds up every month in preparation for a possible pregnancy. After ovulation, if the egg is not fertilized by a sperm, no pregnancy will result and the current lining of the uterus is no longer needed. As the muscles of the uterus, as well as the abdominal muscles surrounding the uterus, contract spasmodically to push the menstrual fluid out of the uterus in preparation for a new lining in the next monthly cycle, menstrual cramps result.

Dysmenorrhea is often associated with changes in hormonal levels in the body that occur with ovulation. Menstrual cramps can range from mild (barely noticeable and of short duration) to quite severe (so painful that they interfere with a woman’s regular activities for several days). Severe symptoms include sharp, throbbing, dull, nauseating, burning, or shooting pain and may precede menstruation by several days or may accompany it. Excessively heavy blood loss can also occur at this time.
The pain is usually concentrated in the lower abdomen as well as the right or left abdomen. It may also radiate to the upper thighs and lower back. Many women also experience other symptoms such as nausea and vomiting, diarrhea or constipation, headache, dizziness, disorientation, vomiting, hypersensitivity to sound, light, smell and touch, fainting, and extreme tiredness or fatigue. They often begin immediately following ovulation and shortly before the menstrual period, peak within 24 hours after the onset of the bleeding, and usually subsides at the end of menstruation.
Taking pills and other drugs are not recommended to cure menstrual cramps. Sure, they may provide instant relief but the costs and side effects to our bodies far outweigh the benefits they bring. Stop taking them! Click here to find out more about the various drug treatments and their harmful side effects.
Natural treatment of menstrual cramps offer greater benefits and contribute to our overall well-being. After a long search for remedies to alleviate the pain caused by dysmenorrhea, and interviewing many women on how they dealt with the pain, I have come to realize that many of them usually turn to the closest person they know who can help them – their mothers. And not surprisingly, the advice these women gave were also gained from their own mothers. The knowledge possessed by these women were gained over many years and passed down over many generations. The accummulation of knowledge of the many types of remedies for reducing…Click Here More Info
